Pumice

Bimsstein ist das Endprodukt einer erstaunlichen Naturgewalt: des Vulkans. Es handelt sich um ein helles, sehr poröses, luftiges, schaumartiges magmatisches Gestein, das bei explosiven Vulkanausbrüchen entsteht.

Bimsstein kann zu einem Schleifpulver gemahlen und in Seifen und Peelings als natürliches Peeling verwendet werden, um abgestorbene Hautzellen zu entfernen, die Poren zu reinigen und die Lebendigkeit der Haut wiederherzustellen.

Das Verbot synthetischer Peeling-Mikrokügelchen hat zu einem erneuten Interesse an Bimsstein und anderen nachhaltigen, umweltfreundlichen und wirksamen Peelings für Körperpflegeprodukte geführt. (Microbead-Free Waters Act von 2015)
